CLIMATE CHANGE AND PATHS
Impacts, challenges and opportunities of climate change on outdoor access…
What’s the focus?
This year’s SOAN Conference will focus on the impacts of climate change on off-road path infrastructure, and how we can prepare for and respond to them as path managers, contractors and communities. Speakers from Nature Scot, TP&E, local authorities and other bodies will cover topics including how Scotland will be affected by climate change, what this means for path infrastructure, and potential hard and soft engineering solutions. Afternoon workshops will cover a variety of topics, both climate-related and those of more general interest to SOAN members. A full programme coming soon.
Who’s it for?
The conference will appeal to anyone involved in the management, design and delivery of path infrastructure, and/or access and active travel policy, including access professionals, land managers, consultants, contractors and communities.
Networking
As ever, one of the main components and attractions of SOAN events is the opportunity for networking with fellow professionals and others with specialist skills and experience. This year, in order to provide more time for networking, we’ll be breaking with tradition and running a separate online AGM on 29th November, rather than during the conference lunchbreak. Look out for the invitation and papers which will be emailed three weeks in advance, and please lend your support by attending this new style AGM.
Conference Booking
Early bird tickets are available at £50 until 31st October, thereafter tickets are £60. Booking closes on 7th November.
Please note that no refunds will be issued after the ticket closing date.
