‘Provost Walk, Auchterarder’ – Sharing Best Practice to Improve our Shared Use Paths and Active Travel Routes

Location: The Pavillion, Auchterarder, PH3 1JG – This is located to the northeastern edge of the public park, near the skate park. Access is gained by travelling south off the A824 and onto Western Road (grid ref NN938123).
Cost: £40 per delegate (VAT Exempt)
This Good Practice Event will showcase the multi-year, multi-phase developments that have taken place along the ‘Provost Walk’ in Auchterarder. This event is aimed at anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of the strategic planning, community involvement, partnerships, technical design, funding and practical implementation considerations of a large shared-use path project. The day will be led by the project partners, namely: Transport, Planning & Engineering (TP&E) – Cycling Scotland’s project delivery specialists; members of the Auchterarder Core Paths Working Group and Perth & Kinross Countryside Trust.
The cost includes tea and coffee on arrival and a buffet lunch (13:30).
Who should attend?
Those working to improve access to outdoor environments and greenspace including outdoor access/planning professionals, public-private partnerships, NGO’s, community councils, organisations in charge of tourism and recreational development, those involved in active travel infrastructure and community path groups.
What do I need?
We will be walking along part of the ‘Provost Walk’ to view works that have been undertaken. Attendees should ensure that they wear comfortable footwear and appropriate outdoor clothing for the time of year.
