Mountain Biking is one of our most enduring sports and recreation activities. The trail offer in Scotland has created world championships, boosted the visitor economy and helped many people improve their health and wellbeing. This sharing best practice workshop will explore how to manage access for mountain biking considering formal mountain bike routes, SOAC access and unauthorised trails. It will look at approaches, including working with trail associations, to develop sustainable trail plans for mountain biking. The workshop will share current thinking by Forestry and Land Scotland and Developing Mountain Bike Scotland. We don’t promise all the answers but we do think we can stimulate valuable debate. The workshop will start at 10am in the Lodge Forest Visitor Centre (in the projector room) for introductions and a short presentation, but we aim to spend the bulk of our time outdoors (exact location tbc), so please come prepared for the weather. We plan to finish the session by 2pm. The cost of the event is £40 per person. Refreshments and lunch are included.
