An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil Engineering Technician to work as part of the Council’s Countryside Services team for a period of 3 years from April 2013. You will be working as part of a small team responsible for the implementation and development of the Council’s Core Paths Plan. The post will entail working closely with the team but a significant proportion of time will also be spent within the DGDesign in-house consultant team based at Cargen Tower on the outskirts of Dumfries. Duties will include assisting with management of the capital budget, dealing with landowners, developing, designing, supervising and managing non vehicular path projects.
The post is split between the Countryside Services team and DGDesign. You will be expected to contribute to providing a high quality advice service to both the Council and external clients.
Educated to HNC or HND level or equivalent in a related discipline, you must be computer literate with experience in using Microsoft Office and computer aided drawing packages. You will be required to work with minimum supervision and you must have knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
